Ramesh S. Veeragandham, MD, FACS, Diplomate ABTS
Dr. Veeragandham is a board certified Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon of more than fifteen years, and is currently practicing with East Bay Cardiovascular & Thoracic Associates at five hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been a Co-Director at the Department of Cardiovascular surgery, Cardiovascular Institute at John Muir Health since 2008. Dr. Veeragandham was formerly the Director of Minimally Invasive and Valve Surgery at Heart Care Centers of Illinois in Blue Island, IL from 1998 to 2006.
Dr. Veeragandham is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is also a Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in General Surgery, in India. He received numerous honors, awards, and gold medals, and is published extensively in US and international surgical journals. 
Dr. Veeragandham completed his medical education from Guntur Medical College, India, and also received an M.S. in General Surgery from the Post-Graduate Institute of Medicine Education & Research in Chandigarh, India. He completed his surgical residency from the University of California, San Diego, and his Fellowship in Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgery from Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago – where he was on the Faculty from 1998-2005.
In addition to his clinical expertise in complex adult Cardiovascular and Endovascular surgery, his interest is in implementing the delivery of excellent clinical care with the most efficiency and least cost.
